Who runs the Guyanese Embassy?

Sasenarine Singh heads the embassy as ambassador; the Belgian list gives 16 July 2024 as the date of the presentation of credentials. This is the bilateral embassy to the Kingdom of Belgium; missions to the European Union or NATO in Brussels are separate offices.

Closing days

The embassy is closed on Belgian public holidays; Guyanese celebrations on 23 February (national day) usually mean a closure too. Check before visiting in the weeks around Christmas, Easter and in July/August.

Emergency assistance

In an emergency, Guyanese citizens should call the embassy on +32 2 675 62 16. The embassy can help with lost passports, arrests and serious accidents, but it cannot cover costs or interfere with Belgian authorities. The Belgian emergency number is 112 (police: 101).
