Who does the Luxembourg consulate general in Brussels serve?
Together with the embassy in Brussels, the consulate general in Brussels is part of Luxembourg’s consular network in Belgium. According to the Belgian protocol list, Georges Bley heads the office as consul general (since January 2024). Its consular district covers all of Belgium.

- Apply in person at a Luxembourg embassy or consulate general (where there is none: a Belgian mission – contact the passport office BPVL first)
- Your current Luxembourg passport or ID card (or a police report if lost or stolen)
- A recent photo meeting ICAO standards
- Residence certificate less than 3 months old or residence permit (otherwise utility bill, driving licence or sworn statement)
- Fee for an adult 10-year passport: €50 (fast track €150); collect within 6 months

Closing days
Like most offices in Belgium, the consulate general closes on public holidays – including Easter Monday, Ascension Day and Whit Monday as well as on the Luxembourg national day, 23 June. If your visit falls close to a holiday, confirm by phone or e-mail.
Emergency assistance
In an emergency, Luxembourg citizens should contact the consulate general on +32 2 737 57 06. Help is available for lost passports, arrests and serious accidents, but not for legal fees or travel costs. In Belgium, the general emergency number is 112 (police: 101).
