Prepare these documents before your appointment. The lists are taken from official Canadian sources:
Renewing a Canadian passport outside Canada and the US
- Possible if your last passport was an adult 5- or 10-year passport, issued when you were 16 or older and within the last 15 years, with unchanged personal details
- Form PPTC 482 (adult abroad simplified renewal) with your most recent passport’s number, issue and expiry dates
- Two identical passport photos meeting Canadian requirements (photographer’s details and date on the back of one)
- Two references aged 18+ who have known you for at least 2 years (not family members); no guarantor needed
- Lost, stolen or damaged valid passport: also form PPTC 203 and an extra fee
- Submit by mail or in person at a Government of Canada office abroad – check which option your office accepts

Closing days
The embassy is normally closed on the public holidays observed in Lithuania – New Year’s Day (1 January), Day of Restoration of the State of Lithuania (16 February), Day of Restoration of Independence (11 March), Easter Sunday and Easter Monday, International Workers’ Day (1 May), Mother’s Day (first Sunday in May), Father’s Day (first Sunday in June), St John’s Day / Midsummer (24 June), Statehood Day (6 July), Assumption Day (15 August), All Saints’ Day and All Souls’ Day (1 and 2 November), Christmas Eve, Christmas Day and the second day of Christmas (24–26 December). Lithuania does not move holidays that fall on a weekend; Easter follows the Western calendar. It is usually also closed on Canada’s national day (1 July).
Emergency assistance
In Lithuania, 112 is the single emergency number for the police, ambulance and fire and rescue services. Lithuanian citizens who need help in Canada can contact the Lithuanian embassy accredited to the country or the Lithuanian Ministry of Foreign Affairs (tel. +370 5 236 2444).
