About the Maltese Embassy in The Hague

  • Maltese passports and emergency travel documents
  • Certification and legalisation of documents
  • Powers of attorney and notarial acts
  • Certificates for pensions abroad

Do I need an appointment?

Walk-in capacity is limited, so check the procedure on the website first.

Closing days

Like most offices in the Netherlands, the embassy closes on public holidays – including Easter Monday, King’s Day and Christmas as well as on the Maltese national day, 21 September. Many missions also close on their own national and religious holidays – call ahead.

Emergency assistance

For emergencies, the embassy’s number is +31 70 356 12 52. The embassy can help with lost passports, arrests and serious accidents, but it cannot cover costs or interfere with Dutch authorities. In the Netherlands, the emergency number is 112; for non-urgent police matters call 0900 8844.
