Who runs the Nigerian Embassy?

According to the Italian diplomatic list, Nigeria is represented by Ambassador Mfawa Omini Abam (accredited 14 June 2021). 10 diplomats are accredited to the embassy, according to the Italian list.

Visa and entry information for Italian citizens

Italian citizens need a visa for Nigeria; it can be applied for online. Details: Italian travel advice (Viaggiare Sicuri).

Closing days

The embassy is closed on Italian public holidays; Nigerian celebrations on 1 October (national day) usually mean a closure too. Offices in the city also close on 29 June for the feast of Saints Peter and Paul. Many offices work reduced hours in August – call ahead in summer.

Emergency assistance

In an emergency, Nigerian citizens should call the embassy on +39 06 68393200. Consular staff can replace lost travel documents and inform family members; they do not provide legal representation or money. The Italian emergency number is 112.
