Who runs the Argentine Embassy?
Fernando Adolfo Iglesias heads the embassy as ambassador; the Belgian list gives 22 January 2026 as the date of the presentation of credentials. Brussels hosts the EU institutions and NATO, so several countries keep separate missions there; this page covers the bilateral embassy to Belgium.

Argentine passport (application abroad)
- Only Argentines resident in the consulate’s jurisdiction can apply for the ordinary (RENAPER) passport there
- Book an appointment and attend in person – biometric data are taken
- An up-to-date DNI (original)
- Your previous passport, or a police report if it was lost or stolen
- The passport is printed in Argentina and sent to the consulate, where you collect it; express passports are not available abroad
- For an urgent return: a provisional passport valid for 60 days, only for travel to Argentina

Many consular services require an appointment – check the embassy website first.
Visa and entry information for Belgian citizens
Belgian citizens do not need a visa for short tourist stays in Argentina; a valid passport is required. The Belgian Foreign Ministry keeps the entry rules for Belgians in its travel documents database; check it before booking.
Closing days
The embassy is closed on Belgian public holidays as well as on the Argentine national day, 25 May. Check before visiting in the weeks around Christmas, Easter and in July/August.

For emergencies, the embassy’s number is +32 2 647 78 12. Consular staff can replace lost travel documents and inform family members; they do not provide legal representation or money. The Belgian emergency number is 112 (police: 101).
