Documents checklist
What Argentine citizens usually need to bring for the most common requests, based on official Argentine government information:
Argentine passport (application abroad)
- Only Argentines resident in the consulate’s jurisdiction can apply for the ordinary (RENAPER) passport there
- Book an appointment and attend in person – biometric data are taken
- An up-to-date DNI (original)
- Your previous passport, or a police report if it was lost or stolen
- The passport is printed in Argentina and sent to the consulate, where you collect it; express passports are not available abroad
- For an urgent return: a provisional passport valid for 60 days, only for travel to Argentina

Do I need an appointment?
Walk-in capacity is limited, so check the procedure on the website first.
Visa and entry information for Danish citizens
The Danish Ministry of Foreign Affairs does not publish visa rules for individual countries. Its travel advice points out that the authorities of the destination decide on entry rules, and asks Danish citizens to check with that country’s nearest embassy or consulate before departure – for Argentina, that means this mission. Source: Danish Ministry of Foreign Affairs – travel advice (Rejsevejledning, in Danish).
Closing days
Like most offices in Denmark, the embassy closes on public holidays – including the Easter days, Ascension Day, Whit Monday, Christmas Eve, Christmas and New Year’s Eve. It is usually also closed on Argentina’s national day (25 May). Check before visiting in the weeks around Christmas and Easter.
Emergency assistance
In an emergency, Argentine citizens should call the embassy on +45 33 15 80 82. Embassies can issue emergency travel documents, contact relatives and provide lists of lawyers or doctors; they cannot pay bills or act as a lawyer. In Denmark, the emergency number is 112; the police can be reached on 114 for non-urgent matters. Danish citizens who need help in Argentina can contact the Danish embassy accredited to the country or the Danish Foreign Ministry’s 24-hour Global Watch Centre on +45 33 92 11 12.
