About the Austrian Embassy in London
The ambassador is Mag. Bernhard Wrabetz, in post since 31 July 2023 according to the FCDO list. 18 diplomats and attachés are registered with the FCDO for this embassy. Two honorary consulates support Austrian citizens elsewhere in the UK.

Prepare these documents before your appointment. The lists are taken from official Austrian sources:
Austrian passport (application abroad)
- Book an appointment and apply in person (also infants) – postal applications are not accepted; some honorary consulates also take applications
- Passport application form (Reisepassantrag), downloadable from the embassy website
- Birth certificate and proof of Austrian citizenship (Staatsbürgerschaftsnachweis) or your current Austrian passport/ID
- Proof of residence in the United Kingdom and, where applicable, your residence permit
- A recent passport photo meeting the EU/Austrian criteria (taken by a professional photographer)
- Marriage, divorce or name-change documents if relevant; foreign documents with apostille and German translation (English often accepted)

Do British citizens need a visa for Austria?
British citizens do not need a visa for short tourist stays in Austria (up to 90 days); a valid passport is required. Details: UK government travel advice – entry requirements.
