Travelling from Belgium to China
Belgian citizens do not need a visa for short tourist stays in China (up to 30 days); a valid passport is required. The Belgian Foreign Ministry keeps the entry rules for Belgians in its travel documents database; check it before booking.
Closing days
Expect the embassy to be closed on Belgian holidays such as 21 July (National Day), 15 August and 11 November as well as on the Chinese national day, 1 October. Check before visiting in the weeks around Christmas, Easter and in July/August.
Emergency assistance
Chinese nationals in urgent need of help can reach the embassy on +32 2 771 20 38. Embassies can issue emergency travel documents, contact relatives and provide lists of lawyers or doctors; they cannot pay bills or act as a lawyer. The Belgian emergency number is 112 (police: 101).
