Who runs the Latvian Embassy?
Solvita Āboltiņa heads the embassy as ambassador; the Dutch protocol list gives 27 maart 2024 as the date of the presentation of credentials. Unlike in most countries, the embassies in the Netherlands are not in the capital Amsterdam but in The Hague, the seat of government. Two honorary consulates support Latvian citizens in other parts of the Netherlands.

Yes. According to the official website, visits are by appointment only.
Closing days
The embassy is normally closed on Dutch public holidays and on Latvia’s national day (18 November). Many missions also close on their own national and religious holidays – call ahead.
Emergency assistance
In an emergency, Latvian citizens should call the embassy on +31 70 306 50 00. The embassy can help with lost passports, arrests and serious accidents, but it cannot cover costs or interfere with Dutch authorities. In the Netherlands, the emergency number is 112; for non-urgent police matters call 0900 8844.
