Before your visit

The embassy is located at Avenue du Besme 18, 1190 Forest. The address is in Forest, a municipality of the Brussels-Capital Region.

  • Opening hours (according to the embassy): Monday to Friday from 09:00 to 13:00 and from 14:00 to 18:00.
  • Documents: take originals and photocopies, and a valid passport or identity card.

The embassy and its network in Belgium

Bold Luvsanvandan heads the embassy as ambassador; the Belgian list gives 20 December 2021 as the date of the presentation of credentials. Many embassies in Brussels are also accredited to Luxembourg, and some Mongolian diplomats in the city work with the European Union and NATO – these are separate missions with their own staff. Two honorary consulates support Mongolian citizens in other parts of Belgium.

Walk-in capacity is limited, so check the procedure on the embassy website first.

Travelling from Belgium to Mongolia

Belgian citizens do not need a visa for short tourist stays in Mongolia (up to 30 days); a valid passport is required. The Belgian Foreign Ministry keeps the entry rules for Belgians in its travel documents database; check it before booking.

Closing days

The embassy is closed on Belgian public holidays as well as on the Mongolian national day, 11 July. Check before visiting in the weeks around Christmas, Easter and in July/August.

Emergency assistance

In an emergency, Mongolian citizens should call the embassy on +32 2 344 69 74. The embassy can help with lost passports, arrests and serious accidents, but it cannot cover costs or interfere with Belgian authorities. The Belgian emergency number is 112 (police: 101).
