Documents checklist

The most frequent applications and the documents the Dutch authorities ask for:

Dutch passport or ID card (application abroad)

  • Book a separate appointment for each passport or ID card – at a Dutch embassy or consulate-general, or via VFS Global where available (you may also apply in another country)
  • Completed application form, a passport photo meeting the Dutch requirements and your printed personal checklist from netherlandsworldwide.nl
  • Proof of legal residence in Greece
  • All your Dutch and foreign passports and ID cards, including expired ones (originals)
  • Everyone applies in person, including children under 18
  • For postal return: a prepaid shipping label per application – note that you first have to send in your old document
