Holders of ordinary Trinidadian passports do not need a visa for Türkiye for stays of up to 90 days, according to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Türkiye; the period counted and other conditions are set out on the ministry’s page.
Which Trinidadian office issues passports and visas?
Passports and other formal consular services for Trinidadian citizens are handled by the Trinidadian embassy responsible for Turkey.
Trinidad and Tobago has no embassy in Turkey, and the Diplomatic Portal of the Turkish Ministry of Foreign Affairs does not name a Trinidadian embassy accredited to Turkey; contact the honorary consulate for directions.
What can an honorary consul do?
An honorary consul is not a career diplomat but a local resident – often a business person or lawyer – appointed by Trinidad and Tobago and approved by the host country. Depending on the powers granted, the honorary consul can help Trinidadian citizens in an emergency (lost passport, accident, arrest), pass on applications and documents to the embassy, and certify signatures or life certificates. Passports and visas are not issued by an honorary consulate; they remain the responsibility of the embassy or a career consulate.
