About the honorary consulate in Belgrade

The honorary consulate represents Vanuatu in Serbia. According to the Diplomatic List of the Serbian Ministry of Foreign Affairs (29 September 2026), the post is held by Oliver Ćirić (honorary consul; the list gives the date 30 August 2023). No opening hours are published; arrange a visit in advance. To do so, call +381 60 088 0826 or e-mail consul@vanuatuconsulate.rs.

The office is in the capital, Belgrade, about 12 km in a straight line from Belgrade Nikola Tesla Airport.

Citizens of Vanuatu holding ordinary passports need a visa for Serbia, according to the Serbian Ministry of Foreign Affairs’ visa regime page. Serbia is not part of the Schengen area, but holders of a valid Schengen, UK, EU member-state or US visa, or of a residence permit of those countries, may enter visa-free for up to 90 days within six months while it is valid (visa requirements).

Which Vanuatuan office issues passports and visas?

Passports and other formal consular services for Vanuatuan citizens are handled by the Vanuatuan embassy responsible for Serbia.

Vanuatu has no embassy in Serbia, and the country page of the Serbian Ministry of Foreign Affairs names no embassy accredited to Serbia; contact the honorary consulate for directions.

What can an honorary consul do?

An honorary consul is not a career diplomat but a local resident – often a business person or lawyer – appointed by Vanuatu and approved by the host country. Depending on the powers granted, the honorary consul can help Vanuatuan citizens in an emergency (lost passport, accident, arrest), pass on applications and documents to the embassy, and certify signatures or life certificates. Passports and visas are not issued by an honorary consulate; they remain the responsibility of the embassy or a career consulate.
