Holders of ordinary Sammarinese passports do not need a visa for Türkiye for stays of up to 90 days, according to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Türkiye; the period counted and other conditions are set out on the ministry’s page.

Which Sammarinese office issues passports and visas?

Passports and other formal consular services for Sammarinese citizens are handled by the Sammarinese embassy responsible for Turkey.

San Marino has no embassy in Turkey, and the Diplomatic Portal of the Turkish Ministry of Foreign Affairs does not name a Sammarinese embassy accredited to Turkey; contact the honorary consulate for directions.

What can an honorary consul do?

An honorary consul is not a career diplomat but a local resident – often a business person or lawyer – appointed by San Marino and approved by the host country. Depending on the powers granted, the honorary consul can help Sammarinese citizens in an emergency (lost passport, accident, arrest), pass on applications and documents to the embassy, and certify signatures or life certificates. Passports and visas are not issued by an honorary consulate; they remain the responsibility of the embassy or a career consulate.
