Who runs the Armenian Embassy?
Tigran Balayan heads the embassy as ambassador; the Belgian list gives 19 September 2023 as the date of the presentation of credentials. Many embassies in Brussels are also accredited to Luxembourg, and some Armenian diplomats in the city work with the European Union and NATO – these are separate missions with their own staff. One honorary consulate supports Armenian citizens in other parts of Belgium.

Documents checklist
The most frequent applications and the documents the Armenian authorities ask for:
Renewing an Armenian passport abroad (adults)
- Apply in person at the nearest Armenian embassy or consulate
- Completed application form
- Four identical colour photos, 35 × 45 mm, taken within the last six months
- Your expired passport plus copies of pages 2–5
- Men aged 18–55: military service documents (or deferment/conscription reference)
- Receipt for the consular fee; foreign documents need an apostille and Armenian translation

Walk-in capacity is limited, so check the procedure on the embassy website first.
Travelling from Belgium to Armenia
Belgian citizens do not need a visa for short tourist stays in Armenia; a valid passport is required. Details: Belgian Foreign Ministry – travel documents by country.
Closing days
Expect the embassy to be closed on Belgian holidays such as 21 July (National Day), 15 August and 11 November; Armenian celebrations on 21 September (national day) usually mean a closure too. Check before visiting in the weeks around Christmas, Easter and in July/August.
Emergency assistance
Armenian nationals in urgent need of help can reach the embassy on +32 2 348 44 00. Consular staff can replace lost travel documents and inform family members; they do not provide legal representation or money. The Belgian emergency number is 112 (police: 101).
