Documents checklist
The most frequent applications and the documents the Belarusian authorities ask for:
Belarusian passport for permanent residence abroad (age 14+)
- You must be on the consular register of the embassy or consulate in your country of residence; personal appearance (or a legal representative) is mandatory
- Signed application
- Your current passport
- Four colour photos, 40 × 50 mm
- A document from the host-country authorities confirming your right to reside there
- Proof of payment of the consular fee; foreign documents must be legalised and translated into Belarusian or Russian

Walk-in capacity is limited, so check the procedure on the embassy website first.
Closing days
The embassy is closed on Italian public holidays as well as on the Belarusian national day, 3 July. The city’s patron saint’s day (Saints Peter and Paul, 29 June) is a local holiday. If your visit falls close to a holiday, confirm by phone or e-mail.
Emergency assistance
In an emergency, Belarusian citizens should call the embassy on +39 06 8208141. Consular staff can replace lost travel documents and inform family members; they do not provide legal representation or money. The Italian emergency number is 112. Italian citizens who need help in Belarus contact the Italian Embassy in Minsk.
