Visa and entry information
Swiss travellers should ask the Chadian embassy about visa and entry requirements – the FDFA does not publish them itself. Important: the FDFA advises against all travel to Chad. See the FDFA travel advice.
Closing days
The embassy is closed on Swiss public holidays and on the Chadian national holiday (11 August). Bridge days around holidays may bring extra closures.
Emergency assistance
In an emergency, Chadian citizens should call the embassy on +41 22 340 59 20. The embassy can help with lost passports, arrests and serious accidents, but it cannot cover costs or interfere with Swiss authorities. In the other direction, Swiss nationals in Chad can turn to the Swiss Embassy in Abuja, which also covers Chad; the FDFA Helpline answers on +41 58 465 33 33 at any time.
