The ministry’s list gives the office hours as Monday to Friday 09:00–16:00. To check before a visit, call +381 11 361 6118 or e-mail dsagovnovic@mfa.gov.ge.

The office is in the capital, Belgrade, about 12 km in a straight line from Belgrade Nikola Tesla Airport.

Citizens of Georgia with ordinary passports do not need a visa for visits to Serbia of up to 90 days within 180 days, according to the Serbian Ministry of Foreign Affairs’ visa regime page. Serbia is not part of the Schengen area and applies its own visa rules.

What can an honorary consul do?

An honorary consul is not a career diplomat but a local resident – often a business person or lawyer – appointed by Georgia and approved by the host country. Depending on the powers granted, the honorary consul can help Georgian citizens in an emergency (lost passport, accident, arrest), pass on applications and documents to the embassy, and certify signatures or life certificates. Passports and visas are not issued by an honorary consulate; they remain the responsibility of the embassy or a career consulate.
