Visitors go to Rue Père Eudore Devroye 245, 1150 Woluwe-Saint-Pierre. The address is in Woluwe-Saint-Pierre, a municipality of the Brussels-Capital Region.

  • Opening hours (according to the embassy): Monday to Friday from 09:00 to 18:00.
  • Documents: take originals and photocopies, and a valid passport or identity card.

Who runs the Georgian Embassy?

According to the Belgian protocol list, Georgia is represented by Ambassador Vakhtang Makharoblishvili (credentials presented 17 June 2021). Many embassies in Brussels are also accredited to Luxembourg, and some Georgian diplomats in the city work with the European Union and NATO – these are separate missions with their own staff. One honorary consulate supports Georgian citizens in other parts of Belgium.

Documents checklist

The most frequent applications and the documents the Georgian authorities ask for:

Georgian biometric passport (application at a consulate)

  • Book an appointment and apply in person – photo, fingerprints and signature are taken at the consulate
  • A copy of your current identity document (passport or ID card)
  • A passport photo (upload it when booking online or bring it on a USB stick)
  • If your name changed through marriage or divorce abroad: the apostilled supporting document
  • Prepared within about 45 days via a consulate; valid 10 years for adults
  • Alternative: citizens abroad can reuse their existing biometric data via the online service of the Public Service Development Agency

Visa and entry information for Belgian citizens

Belgian citizens do not need a visa for short tourist stays in Georgia (up to 365 days); according to the Belgian Foreign Ministry, a valid identity card (eID) or passport is accepted. Details: Belgian Foreign Ministry – travel documents by country.

Closing days

The embassy is closed on Belgian public holidays as well as on the Georgian national day, 26 May. Many offices work reduced hours in summer – call ahead in July and August.

Emergency assistance

Georgian nationals in urgent need of help can reach the embassy on +32 2 761 11 90. Embassies can issue emergency travel documents, contact relatives and provide lists of lawyers or doctors; they cannot pay bills or act as a lawyer. The Belgian emergency number is 112 (police: 101).
