Closing days
Like most offices in Portugal, the nunciature closes on public holidays – including Good Friday, Corpus Christi and the Immaculate Conception (8 December). Lisbon’s municipal holiday, St Anthony’s Day (13 June), may also mean a closure. If your visit falls close to a holiday, confirm by phone or e-mail.

For emergencies, the nunciature’s number is +351 21 317 1130. Embassies can issue emergency travel documents, contact relatives and provide lists of lawyers or doctors; they cannot pay bills or act as a lawyer. In Portugal, the emergency number is 112.
