What Irish citizens usually need to bring for the most common requests, based on official Irish government information:
Renewing an Irish passport from abroad
- Renew online with Passport Online on ireland.ie – available worldwide; applications must be made in the country where you live
- Possible if your last passport was issued within the last 15 years (otherwise apply as a first-time applicant)
- Your current passport, a digital photo meeting the requirements, an e-mail address and a credit or debit card
- Most adult renewals need no supporting documents – the form tells you if anything else is required
- Fee: €75 for a 10-year adult passport plus €15 postage outside Ireland
- Emergency or temporary passports are not available online – contact the Embassy of Ireland
