Prepare these documents before your appointment. The lists are taken from official Lithuanian sources:

  • Register for an appointment via the Ministry’s Keliauk portal (in some countries applications go through an external service provider)
  • Everyone over 2 years old must be present
  • Your old Lithuanian passport or ID card and a valid passport or ID of your country of residence
  • The consular fee (card payment at many missions)
  • Lost, damaged or expired document: the consular post can issue a travel document valid only for returning to Lithuania

Sources: Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Lithuania – registration for consular services, Consulate General of Lithuania in New York – passport and ID card (checked October 2026).
