What does the honorary consul in Athens do?

Mauritius is represented in Athens by an honorary consul. According to the Greek Foreign Ministry’s list of consular posts (September 2026), the post is held by Hélène Vassou. Its jurisdiction is the whole of Greece. Visits are by arrangement only. Questions can be sent in advance: call +30 210 324 6404 and e-mail hon.consulatemauritiusgreece@worldaviation.cc.

The Greek Ministry of Foreign Affairs does not publish visa rules for individual countries. It asks Greek citizens travelling outside the EU and the European Economic Area to check with the consular authorities of the country they are visiting before departure – for Mauritius, that means this mission. The Mauritian national day, 12 March, normally means a closure too. Many missions also close on their own national and religious holidays – call ahead.
