- Opening hours: not published – call or e-mail before you go.

Who runs the Moldovan Embassy?
Ambassador Vladimir Cuc has headed the embassy since June 2024. Unusually for an embassy, it is located in Geneva – the city that also hosts the UN’s European headquarters – rather than in Bern. The consular section covers Bern, Lucerne, Uri, Schwyz, Obwalden, Nidwalden, Glarus, Zug, Fribourg, Solothurn, Basel-Stadt, Basel-Landschaft, Schaffhausen, Appenzell Ausserrhoden, Appenzell Innerrhoden, St. Gallen, Graubünden, Aargau, Thurgau, Ticino, Vaud, Valais, Neuchâtel, Geneva and Jura.
Embassy or honorary consulate?
The consular section of the embassy is responsible for Moldovan citizens in Bern, Lucerne, Uri, Schwyz, Obwalden, Nidwalden, Glarus, Zug, Fribourg, Solothurn, Basel-Stadt, Basel-Landschaft, Schaffhausen, Appenzell Ausserrhoden, Appenzell Innerrhoden, St. Gallen, Graubünden, Aargau, Thurgau, Ticino, Vaud, Valais, Neuchâtel, Geneva and Jura. One honorary consulate (Zurich) can help with information and some formalities.

- All your current and expired passports, and civil status records (birth, marriage or divorce certificates)
- Proof of payment of the consular fee (payment methods vary by mission)
- Lost, damaged or expired passport and urgent return: an emergency travel document valid only for the return to Moldova

Visa and entry information
Visa rules for Swiss passport holders are set by Moldova; the embassy confirms the current requirements on request. The FDFA currently advises against travel to certain regions of Moldova. See the FDFA travel advice.

Emergency assistance
In an emergency, Moldovan citizens should call the embassy on +41 22 733 91 03. The embassy can help with lost passports, arrests and serious accidents, but it cannot cover costs or interfere with Swiss authorities. Swiss citizens in trouble in Moldova should contact the Swiss Embassy in Kyiv, which also covers Moldova – or call the FDFA Helpline on +41 58 465 33 33.
