  • Completed application form, a passport photo meeting the Dutch requirements and your printed personal checklist from netherlandsworldwide.nl
  • Proof of legal residence in Sweden

Closing days

Like most offices in Sweden, the embassy closes on public holidays – including Epiphany (6 January), Ascension Day and All Saints’ Day. It is usually also closed on the Netherlands’ national day (27 April). If your visit falls close to a holiday, confirm by phone or e-mail.

Emergency assistance

Dutch nationals in urgent need of help can reach the embassy on +46 8 556 933 00. The embassy can help with lost passports, arrests and serious accidents, but it cannot cover costs or interfere with Swedish authorities. In Sweden, the emergency number is 112. Swedish citizens who need help in the Netherlands can contact the Swedish Embassy in The Hague; the Swedish Foreign Ministry’s consular duty service is reachable around the clock on +46 8 405 50 05, and Sweden Abroad lists the local contacts.
