About the Saudi Consulate General in Frankfurt
The consulate general serves Saudi citizens in five southern and central states – students, patients at German clinics and business travellers – and is the Saudi point of contact for Germany’s financial and trade-fair centre. It is headed by Consul General Majid Ali Alzowaimil.

What Saudi citizens usually need to bring for the most common requests, based on official Saudi government information:
Renewing a Saudi passport abroad
- Fill in the electronic “passport issuance” request (MOFA e-services) with your Enjaz reference number, attach a photo and documents, then print and sign the form
- A copy of your existing passport – the original is handed in when you receive the new one
- A letter of introduction according to your situation (employer certificate, cultural mission or university letter, or hospital letter)
- A copy of your residence or study ID and of your national ID
- The mission may ask you (or your guardian) to appear in person or to send documents by post; minors need the guardian’s consent
- If the passport expired more than a year ago, a laissez-passer may be issued instead

How do visa applications work?
Tourist visas are applied for online as e-visas. Business, work and family visit visas start on the official Saudi visa platform; check the current procedure there before contacting the consulate general.
Visa information
Germans need a visa for Saudi Arabia. Tourists can apply online for an e-visa; a visa on arrival exists, but applying in advance is recommended. Temporary passports are not accepted. Frequent business travellers can get a one-year multiple-entry visa. Saudis need a Schengen visa from the German Embassy in Riyadh or the Consulate General in Jeddah.

Closing days
Closed on Hessian public holidays and on Saudi holidays, including Founding Day (22 February), National Day (23 September), Eid al-Fitr and Eid al-Adha.
