What Slovak citizens usually need to bring for the most common requests, based on official Slovak government information:
Slovak passport (application abroad)
- Book an appointment (many embassies use an electronic booking service) and apply in person (applicants 18+)
- A valid Slovak ID card or Slovak passport as proof of citizenship – a driving licence is not accepted
- Without either: first obtain a Slovak citizenship certificate
- Name changes abroad: the apostilled certificate with Slovak translation
- Passports are produced in Slovakia; lost passport: emergency travel document for the return to Slovakia

Visa and entry information for British citizens

Closing days
Expect the embassy to be closed on UK bank holidays such as Easter Monday and the late summer bank holiday; the Slovak national day (1 August) often means a closure too.
