No. According to the list of visa waiver agreements of Paraguay’s National Directorate of Migration (January 2026), nationals of the United States do not need a visa to enter Paraguay as tourists for stays of up to 90 days. The exemption is based on Law 7314/2024 and is valid until 13 August 2027.

Documents checklist

What US citizens usually need to bring for the most common requests, based on official US government information:

Renewing a U.S. passport abroad

  • Contact the U.S. embassy or consulate for your area for its submission instructions
  • Renewal with Form DS-82 is possible only if your last passport was issued within the last 15 years, when you were 16 or older, and has never been reported lost or stolen
  • The passport must be in your current name – otherwise bring the marriage certificate, divorce decree or other name-change document
  • If you do not qualify (e.g. lost or stolen passport, or issued more than 15 years ago) you must apply in person
  • Abroad you pay only the passport fee (book: $130) – no expedite fee
