Location of the Embassy
Before your visit
Consular matters are not handled at the main building but at Poetzleinsdorferstrasse 49, 1180 Vienna in the 18th district.
- Checklist: identity document, completed forms, originals plus one copy of each supporting document.
The embassy and its staff
The embassy is currently led by Abbosbek Adilov as Chargé d’affaires ad interim since October 2026; no ambassador is listed at the moment. Its accreditation extends beyond Austria to Bosnien, Herzegowina, Croatia, North Macedonia, Serbia, Montenegro, Slovakia, Slovenia and Hungary. 5 diplomats are registered with the Austrian Foreign Ministry for this embassy. Do not confuse the embassy with Uzbekistan’s permanent mission to the OSCE and the United Nations and other international organisations in Vienna: that mission deals with multilateral diplomacy only.
Embassy or honorary consulate?
The consular section in Vienna is responsible for Uzbek citizens in all of Austria. One honorary consulate (Vienna) can help with information and some formalities, but passports are normally issued by the embassy.
Consular services
Services for Uzbek citizens and visitors include:
- Uzbek passports and emergency travel documents
- Registration of births, marriages and deaths

Do I need an appointment?
Public hours are published, so short matters can often be handled without booking. Passport applications may still require an appointment.
Do Austrians need a visa for Uzbekistan?
Austrian citizens need no visa for Uzbekistan and must travel with a passport. Your passport should be valid for at least 3 months beyond your stay. Security rating by the Austrian Foreign Ministry: security risk (level 2 of 4).
