Location of the Embassy

The embassy location is shown on the map above. Visitors are advised to confirm travel arrangements before their visit.

Before your visit

Klampenborg lies in Gentofte Municipality, directly north of the Copenhagen city limits.

Who runs the Bangladeshi Embassy?

The embassy is currently led by Tanmoy Majumder as chargé d’affaires a.i., according to the Danish Foreign Ministry’s Copenhagen Diplomatic List (October 2026).

Documents checklist

Prepare these documents before your appointment. The lists are taken from official Bangladeshi sources:

Bangladesh e-passport (application abroad)

  • Apply online on the e-passport portal (epassport.gov.bd) and print the confirmation page showing “Application Submitted”
  • Book an appointment and attend in person for biometric enrolment (fingerprints, iris scan, photo, signature)
  • Bangladeshi national ID card (NID) or a 17-digit online birth registration certificate (English version) – foreign or handwritten birth certificates are not accepted
  • Proof of legal status in Denmark (residence permit)
  • Reissue: your current passport; lost passport: a police report (GD) with the passport number
  • The passport is printed in Dhaka – processing can take several weeks

Sources: Embassy of Bangladesh in Berlin – passport application and appointment (mofa.gov.bd), High Commission of Bangladesh in Canberra – e-passport (mofa.gov.bd) (checked October 2026). Requirements and fees can change and individual posts may ask for more – confirm the current list with the embassy before your visit.

Do Danish citizens need a visa for Bangladesh?

The Danish Ministry of Foreign Affairs does not publish visa rules for individual countries. Its travel advice points out that the authorities of the destination decide on entry rules, and asks Danish citizens to check with that country’s nearest embassy or consulate before departure – for Bangladesh, that means this mission. See the ministry’s travel advice for Bangladesh (in Danish).

Closing days

The embassy is normally closed on Danish public holidays. It is usually also closed on Bangladesh’s national day (26 March).

Emergency assistance

In Denmark, the emergency number is 112; the police can be reached on 114 for non-urgent matters. Danish citizens who need help in Bangladesh can contact the Danish embassy accredited to the country or the Danish Foreign Ministry’s 24-hour Global Watch Centre on +45 33 92 11 12.
