The embassy and its network in Italy

According to the Italian diplomatic list, Lebanon is represented by Ambassador Carla Jazzar (accredited 20 November 2025). Lebanon also has career consular offices in Milan. Three honorary consulates support Lebanese citizens in other parts of Italy.

Documents checklist

What Lebanese citizens usually need to bring for the most common requests, based on official Lebanese government information:

Lebanese passport (application at an embassy)

  • Lebanese ID card or a recent individual civil status extract – original and photocopy
  • The embassy’s application form, signed in person at the embassy
  • Three recent colour photos (not older than six months), 4.3 × 3.5 cm, white background
  • Your residence card in Italy, if applicable, and your current Lebanese passport
  • Lost passport: police report explaining the circumstances
  • Note: 2003-model passports can no longer be replaced abroad (only a one-time one-year renewal to travel to Lebanon)

Do I need an appointment?

Walk-in capacity is limited, so check the procedure on the embassy website first.

Closing days

Like most offices in Italy, the embassy closes on public holidays and on Lebanon’s national day (22 November). Offices in the city also close on 29 June for the feast of Saints Peter and Paul. Many offices work reduced hours in August – call ahead in summer.

Emergency assistance

Lebanese nationals in urgent need of help can reach the embassy on +39 06 8537211. The embassy can help with lost passports, arrests and serious accidents, but it cannot cover costs or interfere with Italian authorities. The Italian emergency number is 112.
