Closing days
The embassy is normally closed on the public holidays observed in Hungary – New Year’s Day (1 January), the 1848 Revolution Memorial Day (15 March), Good Friday, Easter Sunday and Easter Monday, Labour Day (1 May), Whit Sunday and Whit Monday, St Stephen’s Day – the State Foundation Day (20 August), the 1956 Revolution Memorial Day (23 October), All Saints’ Day (1 November) and Christmas (25 and 26 December). Christmas Eve (24 December) is also a day off in 2026. When a holiday falls on a Tuesday or Thursday, the Hungarian government usually turns the Monday or Friday in between into a rest day (in 2026: 2 January and 21 August), so many offices close on those days as well. It is usually also closed on Indonesia’s national day (17 August).
Emergency assistance
In Hungary, call 112 for any emergency; the direct numbers are 104 for an ambulance, 105 for the fire service and 107 for the police. Hungarian citizens who need help in Indonesia can contact the Hungarian embassy accredited to the country or the Consular Service of the Hungarian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade (24-hour line +36 80 36 80 36).
