Before your visit
Löwengasse 47/10 in Vienna’s 3rd district (Landstraße) is where the embassy is based.

The embassy and its staff
Ambassador Victoria Rosa has headed the embassy since September 2024. Its accreditation extends beyond Austria to Slovakia. Do not confuse the embassy with Moldova’s permanent mission to the OSCE and the United Nations and other international organisations in Vienna: that mission deals with multilateral diplomacy only.
Which Moldovan office is responsible for me?
The consular section in Vienna is responsible for Moldovan citizens in all of Austria. Three honorary consulates (Innsbruck, Neuhaus and St. Pölten) can help with information and some formalities, but passports are normally issued by the embassy.
Consular services
Requests the consular staff deal with:

- Certificates for pensions and social security abroad
Fees and current requirements are published on the embassy website (https://www.austria.mfa.md).
Documents checklist
The most frequent applications and the documents the Moldovan authorities ask for:

- Your Moldovan ID card (not required for holders of a passport with an “authorised emigration” stamp)
- All your current and expired passports, and civil status records (birth, marriage or divorce certificates)
- Proof of payment of the consular fee (payment methods vary by mission)
- Lost, damaged or expired passport and urgent return: an emergency travel document valid only for the return to Moldova
