Do Romanian citizens need a visa for Canada?
Romanian citizens with a chip-enabled (electronic) Romanian passport do not need a temporary resident visa (Immigration and Refugee Protection Regulations, section 190(2.1)); travellers who fly to or transit through a Canadian airport need an electronic travel authorization (eTA) instead (section 7.1). Other Romanian passports require a visa.

- Book an appointment on econsulat.ro – you must apply in person (no post, no proxy)
- Romanian personal numeric code (CNP)

- Romanian birth certificate and, if applicable, marriage certificate or divorce decree (foreign certificates must first be transcribed into the Romanian civil register)
