Travelling from Denmark to the United Kingdom

The Danish Ministry of Foreign Affairs does not publish visa rules for individual countries. Its travel advice points out that the authorities of the destination decide on entry rules, and asks Danish citizens to check with that country’s nearest embassy or consulate before departure – for the United Kingdom, that means this mission. Source: Danish Ministry of Foreign Affairs – travel advice (Rejsevejledning, in Danish).

Closing days

The embassy is normally closed on Danish public holidays. The British national day, 8 June, normally means a closure too. Many missions also close on their own national and religious holidays – call ahead.

Emergency assistance

British nationals in urgent need of help can reach the embassy on +45 35 44 52 00. Consular staff can replace lost travel documents and inform family members; they do not provide legal representation or money. In Denmark, the emergency number is 112; the police can be reached on 114 for non-urgent matters. Danish citizens who need help in the United Kingdom can contact the Danish Embassy in London or the Danish Foreign Ministry’s 24-hour Global Watch Centre on +45 33 92 11 12.
