Visa and entry information for Greek citizens
The Greek Ministry of Foreign Affairs does not publish visa rules for individual countries. It asks Greek citizens travelling outside the EU and the European Economic Area to check with the consular authorities of the country they are visiting before departure – for Türkiye, that means this mission. See the ministry’s page on visas for Greek citizens (in Greek).
Closing days
Expect the consulate general to be closed on Greek public holidays such as Epiphany (6 January), Independence Day (25 March) and Ochi Day (28 October). The Turkish national day, 29 October, normally means a closure too. If your visit falls close to a holiday, confirm by phone or e-mail.
Emergency assistance
In an emergency, Turkish citizens should contact the consulate general on +30 210 671 4828. Help is available for lost passports, arrests and serious accidents, but not for legal fees or travel costs. In Greece, the emergency number is 112 (police 100, ambulance 166, fire service 199; tourist police 1571). Greek citizens who need help in Türkiye should contact the Greek embassy accredited to the country (listed on mfa.gr).
