  • You must be registered as a Danish citizen in the CPR system
  • Renewal: your current passport; documentation of any name change (it must be registered in the CPR first)

Closing days

Like most offices in Sweden, the embassy closes on public holidays – including Epiphany (6 January), Ascension Day and All Saints’ Day. On the Danish national day (26 May) the office is usually closed or holds a reception. Check before visiting in the weeks around Christmas, Easter and Midsummer.

Emergency assistance

For emergencies, the embassy’s number is +46 8 406 75 00. The embassy can help with lost passports, arrests and serious accidents, but it cannot cover costs or interfere with Swedish authorities. In Sweden, the emergency number is 112. Swedish citizens who need help in Denmark can contact the Swedish Embassy in Copenhagen; the Swedish Foreign Ministry’s consular duty service is reachable around the clock on +46 8 405 50 05, and Sweden Abroad lists the local contacts.
