Location of the Embassy
Who runs the Kazakh Embassy?
The embassy is currently led by Yerzhan Kuatbekov as Chargé d’affaires ad interim since September 2026; no ambassador is listed at the moment. Its accreditation extends beyond Austria to Slovenia. 15 diplomats are registered with the Austrian Foreign Ministry for this embassy. Separate from the embassy, Kazakhstan keeps a permanent mission to the OSCE and the United Nations and other international organisations in Vienna; those missions do not handle consular matters for the public.
Embassy or honorary consulate?
The consular section in Vienna is responsible for Kazakh citizens in all of Austria. Three honorary consulates (Graz, Linz and St. Pölten) can help with information and some formalities, but passports are normally issued by the embassy.
