Visitors go to Avenue de Tervueren 412, 2nd floor, 1150 Woluwe-Saint-Pierre. The address is in Woluwe-Saint-Pierre, a municipality of the Brussels-Capital Region.

The embassy and its network in Belgium

The ambassador is Mohd Khalid Abbasi, who presented credentials to the King of the Belgians on 17 November 2023. Renewing a Malaysian passport abroad

  • Check first whether your mission accepts renewals directly or forwards them to the Immigration Department in Putrajaya (this can take up to 3 months)
  • Form IM.42 (from the mission or imi.gov.my)
  • Two recent colour photos, 3.5 × 5 cm, light blue background
  • Your current passport and MyKad
  • Proof of your status in Belgium (residence card, work or student pass)
  • Applicants under 18: present for submission and collection, accompanied by a Malaysian parent

Do I need an appointment?

Many consular services require an appointment – check the embassy website first.

Closing days

Expect the embassy to be closed on Belgian holidays such as 21 July (National Day), 15 August and 11 November as well as on the Malaysian national day, 31 August. Many offices work reduced hours in summer – call ahead in July and August.

For emergencies, the embassy’s number is +32 2 776 03 40. Embassies can issue emergency travel documents, contact relatives and provide lists of lawyers or doctors; they cannot pay bills or act as a lawyer. The Belgian emergency number is 112 (police: 101).
