About the Thai Embassy in Vienna
The office’s accreditation extends beyond Austria to Slovakia and Slovenia. The Austrian Foreign Ministry’s diplomatic list names 8 accredited diplomats. Separate from the embassy, Thailand keeps a permanent mission to the United Nations and other international organisations in Vienna; those missions do not handle consular matters for the public.
Which Thai office is responsible for me?
The consular section in Vienna is responsible for Thai citizens in all of Austria. Two honorary consulates (Innsbruck and Salzburg) can help with information and some formalities, but passports are normally issued by the embassy.
Documents checklist
Prepare these documents before your appointment. The lists are taken from official Thai sources:
Thai e-passport (application abroad)
- Book an appointment and apply in person – biometric data are taken, so postal applications are not possible
- Your valid Thai national ID card (adults without one must first obtain it in Thailand)
- Your current passport – or a police report if it was lost
- The application form (and a photo where requested)
- Minors under 20: Thai birth certificate, both parents present or their documented consent
- Allow about 4–6 weeks

Requirements and fees can change and individual posts may ask for more – confirm the current list with the embassy before your visit.
Do Austrians need a visa for Thailand?
