The Namibian honorary consul in Rome
The honorary consul in Rome is a volunteer representative of Namibia, usually a local business or civic figure. According to the Italian Foreign Ministry’s consular list, the post is held by Valeria Giovanna Rosa Tienghi, who received the Italian exequatur in May 2025. Visits are by arrangement only. An honorary consul cannot issue passports or visas; these are handled by the Namibian Embassy in Paris (accredited to Italy).

When is the office closed?
Expect the honorary consulate to be closed on Italian national holidays such as 25 April, 2 June and 15 August and on Namibia’s national day (21 March). Local holiday: 29 June, the feast of Saints Peter and Paul, patron of the city. Many offices work reduced hours in August – call ahead in summer.
