The ambassador is Fessahazion Pietros Menghistu, accredited to Italy on 17 September 2014. 6 diplomats are accredited to the embassy, according to the Italian list. Closing days

The embassy is closed on Italian public holidays and on Eritrea’s national day (24 May). Local holiday: 29 June, the feast of Saints Peter and Paul, patron of the city. Check before visiting around Christmas, Easter and the August holidays (Ferragosto).

In an emergency, Eritrean citizens should call the embassy on +39 06 42741293. Consular staff can replace lost travel documents and inform family members; they do not provide legal representation or money. The Italian emergency number is 112.
