Travelling from Italy to Tunisia
Italian citizens do not need a visa for short tourist stays in Tunisia (up to 90 days). Details: Italian travel advice (Viaggiare Sicuri).
Closing days
The embassy is closed on Italian public holidays; Tunisian celebrations on 20 March (national day) usually mean a closure too. Offices in the city also close on 29 June for the feast of Saints Peter and Paul. Many offices work reduced hours in August – call ahead in summer.
Emergency assistance
Tunisian nationals in urgent need of help can reach the embassy on +39 06 8603060. The embassy can help with lost passports, arrests and serious accidents, but it cannot cover costs or interfere with Italian authorities. The Italian emergency number is 112.
