About the Czech Embassy in Berlin
The embassy represents the Czech Republic in Germany, its largest trading partner and longest neighbour. Saxony and Bavaria share a border of more than 800 kilometres with the Czech Republic, and many people commute across it every day.
The Czech Republic has consulates general in Dresden, Düsseldorf and Munich and six honorary consuls.

Applying for a Czech passport in Germany
- Book an appointment with the office for your state.
- Bring your Czech identity card or previous passport.
- Photos and fingerprints are taken on site.
- Children need the consent of their legal representatives.
Visa information
Travelling from Germany to the Czech Republic
German citizens do not need a visa and can travel with an identity card. Both countries are in the EU and the Schengen area.
- When checking in to a hotel or hostel, you must show a valid photo ID.
- Czech motorways require an electronic vignette, bought online in advance.

The embassy is closed on German public holidays in Berlin and on Czech holidays, including Statehood Day on 28 September, Independence Day on 28 October and the Day of Struggle for Freedom and Democracy on 17 November.
