About the Guatemalan Embassy in Berlin
The embassy represents Guatemala in Germany. German coffee planters settled in the Alta Verapaz region in the 19th century, and coffee and cardamom are still key exports. Many German visitors travel to the Maya sites of Tikal and to Lake Atitlán.

Visa information
Travelling from Germany to Guatemala
German citizens do not need a visa for stays of up to 90 days. Your passport must be valid for six months on entry.
- Always check that your passport is stamped on arrival. Without a stamp you usually have to visit the migration authority in Guatemala City in person.
- Guatemala belongs to the CA-4 area (with El Salvador, Honduras and Nicaragua), where 90 days apply to the whole region.
- An extension of 90 days can be requested from the migration authority.
- Meat, sausage and dairy products may not be brought in.
Travelling from Guatemala to Germany
Guatemalan citizens can visit Germany without a visa for up to 90 days within any 180 days.
