Gabriel Orellana Zabalza has served as Guatemalan ambassador to Austria since September 2023. Its accreditation extends beyond Austria to Hungary, Slovenia, the Czech Republic, Slovakia and Romania. 4 diplomats are registered with the Austrian Foreign Ministry for this embassy. Separate from the embassy, Guatemala keeps a permanent mission to the United Nations and other international organisations in Vienna; those missions do not handle consular matters for the public.

The consular section in Vienna is responsible for Guatemalan citizens in all of Austria. Two honorary consulates (Innsbruck and St. Pölten) can help with information and some formalities, but passports are normally issued by the embassy.
