About the Lithuanian Embassy in Berlin
The embassy represents Lithuania in Germany. The two countries are EU and NATO partners, and since 2025 a German armoured brigade has been permanently stationed in Lithuania, the first such deployment of the Bundeswehr abroad.
Lithuania has a Consulate General in Munich and five honorary consuls.

Visa information
Travelling from Germany to Lithuania
German citizens do not need a visa and can travel with an identity card. Lithuania is in the EU and the Schengen area.
- Arrivals by air and sea are currently checked; on land routes, spot checks are possible.
- Always carry your ID. Police carry out random checks throughout the country, especially near the border with Belarus, and can fine you if you have no ID.
- Minors travelling alone should carry a consent letter, ideally in German and Lithuanian.

Closing days
The embassy is closed on German public holidays in Berlin and on Lithuanian holidays, including 16 February (Restoration of the State), 11 March (Restoration of Independence), Midsummer on 24 June and Statehood Day on 6 July.
