About the Sri Lankan Embassy in Rome

Satyajiit Arjuna Rodrigo heads the embassy as ambassador; the Italian list gives 5 December 2024 as the date of accreditation. Sri Lanka also has career consular offices in Milan.

Documents checklist

Prepare these documents before your appointment. The lists are taken from official Sri Lankan sources:

Sri Lankan passport (new or renewal, abroad)

  • Apply through the Sri Lankan mission in your country (or the nearest one) on Form K-35A, including the signed client undertaking
  • Your current passport and a photocopy of the bio-data page
  • Photo with the photo studio acknowledgement
  • Original birth certificate and National Identity Card, each with a photocopy; marriage certificate for a married name
  • Minors with parents abroad: consent letter and parents’ passport copies certified by the mission
  • Urgent travel abroad: the mission can issue a one-way travel document

Closing days

Expect the embassy to be closed on Italian national holidays such as 25 April, 2 June and 15 August as well as on the Sri Lankan national day, 4 February. Local holiday: 29 June, the feast of Saints Peter and Paul, patron of the city. If your visit falls close to a holiday, confirm by phone or e-mail.
